B. B. King Blues Hour

Box 8 Folder 56: "OK, Folder 56 is a sample of the B.B. King Blues Hour. This was a program that B.B. King produced or that he was the jock on but I’m sure he had help producing it at the time. In 1989, a series of shows that were delivered by long playing records, 33 RPM records, where he had a theme each time and then would play records associated with that theme. These were products put out by Bullet Productions, and this is a sample sheet from one of those 33 RPM records. For instance, this Blues Hour was considered Blue Money. That was the theme, Blue Money. And during that he would play “My Money’s Green” by Little Charlie and the Nightcaps, he would play “Get Rich Quick” by Little Richard, “Your Cash Ain’t Nothing but Trash” the Clovers, he would play on and on and on. He would play lots of really really good and obscure blues pieces. He didn’t play himself. “Money Honey” by the Drifters and so forth. And we have a lot of these Blues Hour shows in the BBRM. We actually have the discs and programming. We played his program on WJLD from something like 8 to 9 in the morning or 9 to 10 in the morning on Saturdays. Only on Saturdays."
